Corea del Sur ordenó la evacuación de civiles de dos de sus islas luego de que Corea del Norte disparó unos 200 proyectiles de artillería desde su costa oeste, informó el viernes el ministerio surcoreano de Defensa.
“El ejército norcoreano efectuó hoy unas 200 rondas de disparos, de las 09H00 a las 11H00 (00H00 a 02H00 GMT), en las áreas de Jangsan-got, en el noreste de la isla de Bangnyeong, y las áreas al norte (…) de la isla de Yeonpyeong”, dijo un oficial del ministerio en una conferencia.
Autoridades de las dos islas ordenaron la evacuación de civiles como “medida preventiva”, indicaron funcionarios a AFP.
La isla surcoreana de Yeonpyeong está situada en el mar Amarillo, uno 80 km al oeste de Incheon y 12 km al sur del litoral de la provincia norcoreana de Hwanghae.
Un funcionario local de la isla de Bangnyeong dijo a AFP que el ejército surcoreano realizaría el viernes una maniobra naval.
